Trenching for a Cause: “Man vs. GeoRipper” Competition to Benefit GreenCare for Troops

“Man vs. GeoRipper” Competition at EQUIP EXPO Will Benefit the Green GreenCare for Troops Program

Register for Trenching for a Cause

Trenching for a Cause takes center stage this October at the EQUIP Exposition and Hardscape North America in Louisville, Kentucky. The most electrifying trenching competition in the country returns with a powerful new purpose – supporting Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops and its mission to bring healthy green spaces to military families and communities in need. The stakes have never been higher or more meaningful.

Man vs. GeoRipper III – The Ultimate Trenching Throwdown isn’t just a thrilling showcase of speed, skill, and sheer grit, it’s now a fundraiser benefiting GreenCare for Troops, Project EverGreen’s nationwide initiative that provides free lawn care and landscape services to the families of deployed military personnel.

“We’re proud to once again team up with Hunter Industries and the event’s amazing sponsors to bring Man vs. GeoRipper to life,” said Debra McNamara, marketing director at MiniTrencher. “This year, we’re raising the bar with an exciting twist. Instead of going head-to-head with Kevin Battistoni from Hunter Industries, Kevin will be passing the torch to the next fastest digger.”

Thanks to the support of event sponsors including Hunter Industries/FX Luminaire, HindSite, OptConnect, the Irrigation Association, Heritage Landscapes, and Horizon, multiple competitors will be flown to Louisville to battle it out in a head-to-head contest to see who can dig the fastest.

“What makes this event special is the opportunity to give back. We’re proud to use this platform to raise funds for Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops program. It’s a true honor to support such a meaningful cause alongside our incredible partners,” McNamara added.

“This competition represents the very best of our industry – talent, passion, and community,” said Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. “We’re honored to be the beneficiary of this event and grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness and support for the military families we serve through GreenCare for Troops.”

A One-of-a-Kind Showdown

Competitors will face off in a high-energy trenching contest spanning two adrenaline-packed days.

  • Day One: Crowns the Fastest Trencher in North America
  • Day Two: The champion takes on the high-powered GeoRipper in a 40-foot battle for ultimate bragging rights

Held in front of 30,000+ industry professionals and over 1,000 vendors representing all 50 states and nearly 50 countries this event shines a national spotlight on the competitors and the mission of GreenCare for Troops.

Why It Matters

Since 2006, GreenCare for Troops has delivered peace of mind to thousands of military families by providing free, ongoing lawn and landscape care during times of deployment.

Funds raised through Man vs. GeoRipper III will directly support the program’s continued growth ensuring even more families benefit from the generosity and dedication of the green industry.

The Perks

All selected competitors will receive:

  • A custom “business tactical” speed suit featuring their company logo
  • Round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations in Louisville
  • A 3-day EQUIP Expo show pass
  • VIP access to an exclusive Wednesday night event
  • National exposure with a guest spot on Trench Talk, the Battistoni-hosted podcast
  • Social media promotion to boost their brand and story

But most importantly, they’ll be digging for a cause, raising awareness and critical funds for an organization that supports our nation’s heroes and their loved ones.
