Project EverGreen’s “You Move, We Mow” Challenge Returns
Turning every step into support for military families, Project EverGreen is proud to announce the return of its You Move, We Mow Challenge – a nationwide fundraiser that directly supports military families through its flagship program, GreenCare for Troops.
More than just a fitness challenge, You Move, We Mow connects personal activity with real-world impact helping ensure that the families of deployed service members receive reliable, professional lawn and landscape care at no cost.
During GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week, June 21–27, 2026, participants are encouraged to commit to 20,000 steps in honor of 20 years of service. Whether walking, running, biking, hiking, or even mowing the lawn, every step helps raise funds and awareness for military families nationwide.
Every step taken and every dollar raised helps provide free lawn and landscape services – creating safe, healthy outdoor spaces where kids can play and families can recharge.

The first 100 registrants receive a limited-edition Project EverGreen baseball hat. The hats are sponsored by AMGUARD.
Where Movement Meets Mission
When a service member is deployed, life at home doesn’t slow down. Lawns and yards become one more responsibility for families already carrying a heavy load. For thousands of military families, maintaining a safe and cared-for outdoor space can quickly shift from routine to overwhelming.
That’s where GreenCare for Troops makes a difference and where You Move, We Mow turns everyday movement into meaningful support.
Funds raised through the challenge help:
- Expand services to more military families in need
- Support a growing national network of volunteer lawn and landscape professionals
- Ensure consistent, high-quality care for outdoor spaces that families rely on every day
“Every step taken in this challenge helps ease the load for a military family at home,” said Ki Matsko, program manager for GreenCare for Troops. “It’s a simple act with a meaningful outcome – turning movement into measurable support.”
