Project EverGreen’s annual You Move, We Mow Challenge wrapped up another successful run during GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week, held June 22–28, 2025. This year, participants from across the country laced up their shoes and got moving, walking, running, biking, or hiking their way to a collective goal of 19,000 steps each in support of deployed military families.
Thanks to their enthusiasm and commitment, the event raised $5,000, which will go directly toward volunteer recruitment and communications efforts for the GreenCare for Troops program. The program connects military families with professional lawn and landscape services, free of charge, relieving one burden while a loved one is deployed.

Participants from across the country laced up their shoes and got moving, walking, running, biking, or hiking their way to a collective goal of 19,000 steps each in support of deployed military families.
Top green industry companies showed their support in a big way, with participants representing leading names such as Advanced Turf, Albaugh, GIE Media (Lawn & Landscape), Arborjet Ecologel, and Nufarm.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up – literally – to support GreenCare for Troops,” said Cindy Code, Executive Director of Project EverGreen. “This challenge not only raises awareness and funds for military families, but it also highlights the value of getting outdoors and moving in the healthy green spaces that we advocate for every day.”
The You Move, We Mow Challenge aligns with Project EverGreen’s broader mission to create a greener, healthier, cooler Earth, and encourages participants to make the most of their local parks, trails, and backyards while giving back.
Whether you joined in for the fitness, the cause, or the camaraderie, every step made a difference, and we thank you.
