TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods Puts Support Behind Healthy Green Spaces

$15,000 Donation to Project EverGreen Helps Expand its Mission across the United States

“Our social purpose consists of creating stronger and healthier communities, and it is only fitting for us to support Project EverGreen in the important role it plays in that regard across the country. We look forward to seeing the green spaces resulting from this collaboration come to life in urban centers nationwide.”

Providing communities with vibrant, accessible parks and green spaces to create safer and healthier communities, connect people and build sustainable neighborhoods is at the heart of Project EverGreen’s mission.

TELUS Agriculture & Consumer GoodsTELUS logo, a leading provider of digital solutions and data insights for the agriculture, food and consumer goods industries, shares a similar dedication to environmental sustainability and enabling remarkable human outcomes. TKXS, which is now a part of TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods, has been a long-standing supporter of Project EverGreen and this donation is an extension of the strong relationship.

As such, TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods’ Morrisville, North Carolina team, and Project EverGreen are pleased to announce the business’ commitment of $15,000 to help further expand and diversify the GreenCare for Communities and GreenCare for Troops programs that combined have restored more than 200 million square feet of healthy turf and green spaces across the United States.

“Our social purpose consists of creating stronger and healthier communities, and it is only fitting for us to support Project EverGreen in the important role it plays in that regard across the country,” said Ashley Williams, Global Sales Head, Program Execution, Agribusiness at TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods, and one of the organization’s board members. “We look forward to seeing the green spaces resulting from this collaboration come to life in urban centers nationwide.”

The contribution will be used for the logistical, promotional and project-specific resources required to plan and deliver green space projects. In 2022, Project EverGreen and its partners have so far completed or scheduled major renovation projects in Detroit, New York City, Savannah, Georgia, Denver and Cleveland.

“Parks play a vital role in the health and well-being of youth and adults alike. A connection to green spaces enhances social well-being, relationships, safety and environmental health,” said Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. “With the generous donation made by TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods, we can expand our GreenCare for Communities initiative to more urban centers.”

Research has shown a correlation between green spaces, improved air quality and carbon sequestration, reduced heat buildup and lower cooling costs. Access to green spaces has also shown to lower blood pressure, diminish stress, improve attention levels and reduce feelings of fear and anger in both adults and children. They also foster closer-knit communities and improve the overall well-being of residents.
