Nufarm Reaffirms Its Support of GreenCare for Troops
Nufarm is pleased to announce its continued support as the Presenting Sponsor of Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops program with another $150,000 contribution. The nationwide program provides complimentary landscape and lawn care services to families of deployed military personnel.
The renewed contribution will be used to further the initiative’s outreach for volunteer recruitment and communications to families, volunteers and the media, as well as adding promotional and logistical resources required to enhance the GreenCare for Troops database and serve more military families.
GreenCare for Troops enjoyed a 42 percent increase in active volunteers last year following Nufarm’s decision to become the first presenting sponsor of the nationwide program. Nufarm joins Toro and SiteOne Landscape Supply, both platinum sponsors of the GreenCare for Troops program.
“Last year’s decision to become the Presenting Sponsor for the GreenCare for Troops program was driven by the vision of opportunity as well as the natural alignment between our industry and the mission of the program,” explains Sean Casey, Nufarm’s vice president of turf and ornamental sales. “This year’s decision to continue our pledge was based on the facts.”
Over the last 12 months, 365 new volunteers were registered bolstering a base of nearly 1,500 active volunteers participating in the program. In that time frame GreenCare for Troops volunteers provided more than 700 military families with lawn care and landscape services, as well as the peace of mind that comes with a well-maintained property.
Both Project Evergreen and Nufarm are pleased with the results and are eager to increase these numbers in the upcoming months.
Cindy Code, executive director of Project Evergreen, says, “Nufarm’s support of GreenCare for Troops has elevated the nationwide awareness of the program, and gave us the ability to double our outreach team who work closely with both volunteers and military families.”
Growth in the number of military families receiving services, increased social media activity and a magnified GIE+EXPO presence are a few of the specifics that the partnership enabled last year. These projects and more, including sponsorship packets and annual summaries will be additions to the work expected to continue to elevate awareness.
