Lawn Buddy and Project EverGreen Team Up to Promote GreenCare for Troops

The Need for New GreenCare for Troops Continues to Grow and Lawn Buddy Is Helping To Close the Gap

”I remember what it was like for my and my brother’s family when we were deployed. Even though you are getting paid, it’s tough with all the [spouse’s] added responsibilities to make ends meet.”

Project EverGreen recently partnered with Lawn Buddy, an app and web platform that supports small businesses in managing their lawn and landscaping companies, to help identify volunteers for the GreenCare for Troops initiative.

Chad Suenram of New Look Companies in Wichita, Kansas helped Lawn Buddy step up for military families.

Chad Suenram of New Look Companies in Wichita, Kansas who has used Lawn Buddy to manage his business for years and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was more than willing to support the cause.

Suenram instantly understood how difficult deployment can be on the spouse and family at home.

”I remember what it was like for my and my brother’s family when we were deployed,” said Suenram. “Even though you are getting paid, it’s tough with all the [spouse’s] added responsibilities to make ends meet.”

Although the family would prefer to remain anonymous, Suenram’s time and effort went towards supporting a military wife and mother. Her husband’s deployment was extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so she was incredibly grateful.

“It’s tough for people when your spouse is gone, especially if they have a large property,” said Suenram. “When you’re deployed, you sometimes can’t find people who are trustworthy, who will do the right thing, and show up when they say they will.” Luckily, he got to be that person.

Reflecting on his experience, Suenram added, “A small amount of work can be a huge help to a mother with multiple kids while her husband is gone. We just did a little yard clean up, fence repair, and stump removal. But even making a trip to the grocery store can be a huge help to someone in that situation. Doing anything alone with kids during the pandemic is tough.”

Thanks to Suenram and New Look Companies for stepping up to help this family through a difficult time and for sharing his experience with us.

Why Spend Your Extra Time Volunteering?

The Lawn Buddy team understands the importance of helping veterans, active military members, and military families because their CEO, Steven Werner, is a Marine Corps veteran.

After learning more about the GreenCare for Troops initiative, the entire Lawn Buddy team was so excited to get some of their pros on board. They encouraged Suenram to participate and are now encouraging the rest of their 16,000 users to join the cause.

“We are grateful to share Chad’s volunteer experience,” said Werner. “Please consider donating some of your time to military families in need of help with their greenspaces. Not only is deployment hard on these spouses and children, but the pandemic is, too. One extra yard for you can mean a world of difference for these families.”
