Green industry professionals came together to provide complimentary lawn care and landscape services to families of deployed military personnel across the country.
Akron, Ohio is the first GreenCare for Communities project where volunteers renovated a blighted public space.
Building on the success of the GreenCare for Troops program, snow removal services for deployed military families were added.

Project EverGreen and its GreenCare for Troops program was recognized by former First Lady Michelle Obama and current First Lady Dr. Jill Biden as one of 20 honorees in the Joining Forces Community Challenge, an effort to recognize and celebrate citizens, communities, and organizations who have demonstrated a deep commitment to service by improving the lives of military families and veterans.
Repairing storm-damaged trees on Liberty Island was the first green space renovation project in the Big Apple. Since then, in partnership with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation/GreenThumb Gardens Initiative, seven community gardens have been or are scheduled to be renovated.
18-acre Pingree Park was the first of multiple park renovation projects in partnership with the City of Detroit Parks and Recreation Department. Since then, four additional park renovations have been completed.
The GreenCare for Troops Cares for Our Health Care Heroes program was launched during the pandemic to provide complimentary lawn care, landscape, and snow removal services to frontline healthcare workers and first responders.
