Project EverGreen congratulates GreenCareforTroops volunteer Spencer Werness of Spencer’s Lawn Care Service in Burnsville, Minnesota for throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles game on July 6 in Minneapolis. Joining Werness was his son, Spencer, who recently returned from a deployment in Afghanistan with his National Guard unit.

“It was a great experience and a thrill to represent GreenCare for Troops,” said Spencer, Sr. “The real thrill is helping those who whose spouse is away serving our great country and keeping their properties looking great til they return.”

Project EverGreen thanks Werness for his service to make the lives of military families a little easier during a deployment and to The Toro Company, a leading sponsor of the GreenCare for Troops program, for helping to arrange for the Werness father and son team to throw out the first pitch.
