Dan Carrothers - President - Emery Oleochemicals
Former Business Unit Manager for the Pest Control Solutions (PCS) group for BASF, Dan Carrothers has responsibility for managing the overall pest control business including termite and general insect. Prior to this, Dan was the chief operating officer (COO) for DATACORE Marketing LLC, with responsibility for managing all day-to-day operations as well as all operations employees; supporting quality control, client services, and business development; and overseeing the processes for hiring, training, and retaining employees as a member of the senior management team. Prior to Dan’s role at BASF and DATACORE, Dan led the Green business for Bayer Environmental Science in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Dan has also worked in various roles with both Monsanto Canada Inc. in Winnipeg as well as Esso Petroleum Canada in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Edmonton. Dan is married to wife Kim and they have two children; Lindsay and Ryan.
Mike Dauer - Secretary/Treasurer - Real Green Systems
Mike’s career in direct marketing and data management spans 25 years. Focusing primarily on Lawn Care, but including other service industries as well, Mike has helped companies of all sizes market their businesses and gain new customers to create healthy green space. His active involvement in national associations such as PLANET, PLCAA, NPMA and OLCA lends fresh perspective to his marketing techniques, while keeping him abreast of the latest industry technology and trends. Since joining Real Green Systems eight years ago, Mike has toured the U.S. helping thousands of customers market and grow their businesses through the use of direct marketing and data management strategies. Mike and his wife, Tami, have been married for over 31 years and have two adult children. When not working, he enjoys working in his yard, spending time with his family, boating and golfing.
Bill Vogel - Immediate Past President - Spring Valley
Bill has been involved in the “green industry” his whole life. He grew up on a dairy farm just outside Milwaukee Wisconsin and later worked with his Dad in the family farm supply business. After graduating college with a degree in agronomy, Bill started the Spring Valley division of the family business to work with the lawn care, landscape and golf course markets. Spring Valley now ships throughout the US and the world supplying fertilizer and ice melter products. Supporting the industry, Bill has been on the boards of The Wisconsin Landscape Contractors, Wisconsin Green Industry Federation, Mid-Am Horticultural Trade Show, Project Evergreen and more. Married with three grown children, Bill enjoys his four grandchildren, snowboarding, biking and flying his plane.

Linda Beattie - Schiller Grounds Care
Linda Beattie has been a marketing professional for over 25 years. She came to the power equipment industry in 2002 as a Public Relations Representative for Schiller Grounds Care, Inc. back when they only manufactured the Little Wonder and Mantis brands. Today Schiller manufacturers six leading OPE brands which include BOB-CAT, Classen, Little Wonder, Mantis, Ryan and Steiner. Linda has written articles for most of the major publications serving the green industry and was the first female Public Relations Representative to be interviewed in OPE’s State of the Industry, an honor she’s received twice.
Today, Schiller manufactures six brands of outdoor power equipment. Linda served as PR rep for the growing company until 2012 when promoted to Brand Marketing Manager for the company’s BOB-CAT, Ryan and Steiner brands — manufactured in Wisconsin. Today, Linda is the Marketing Manager for Schiller’s Classen, Little Wonder and Mantis brands manufactured out of Schiller’s Corporate office in Southampton, Pennsylvania.
Linda serves on the Board of Directors of the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association as well as Project Evergreen.
Sean Casey - Nufarm
Sean Casey is vice president of sales with Nufarm Turf and Ornamental. A graduate of Purdue University, Sean is actively involved with RISE and PLANET. He resides in Greenwood, Ind. with his wife, Ellen and two daughters, Lauren and Rachel.
Fred Haskett - The Harvest Group
Fred Haskett, Is a Green Industry veteran who has more than 40 years of professional management experience leading and developing regional multi-state and multi-unit companies. Fred, has had a diverse career spanning both the lawn care and landscape maintenance industry segments. He is an experienced senior leader with significant experience in operations, finances, sales, marketing and franchising. He has previously served three terms on the Board of Directors of NALP with two terms as Chairman of the Lawn Care Specialty Group, and he was the Professional Lawn Care Association’s representative to the Landscape Maintenance Specialty Group as part of the ALCA / PLCAA Merger in 2005. In 2006 Fred was honored by his peers by being named a TRAILBLAZER For Lifetime Green Industry Achievement by Professional Land Care Network. Fred’s certifications include: Landscape Industry Certified Manager through NALP, Certified Turf Grass Professional through PLCAA and is a Certified Arborist through ISA.
Doug Obermann - PBI-Gordon Corporation
Doug Obermann currently the Vice President of Sales for Gordon’s Professional Turf & Ornamental Products at PBI-Gordon Corporation. He has been with PBI/Gordon for 29 years and has worked as a product manager; in research and development; as a field sales representative; and key account management. He was raised on a farm in SE Missouri and knows how things grow. Obermann taught Introduction to Agronomy classes as a teaching assistant at Iowa State University, where he earned his Masters degree in Agronomy. Also, Doug earned Bachelor of Science degree with a double major from University of Missouri. He resides in Kansas City, Missouri.
Pierre Pereira - Billy Goat
Pierre Pereira is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Billy Goat Industries, a specialty turf equipment manufacture that was recently acquired by Briggs and Stratton’s (NYSE: BASCO) Power Products Group. Pierre served as an officer of Billy Goat for 8 years before the acquisition and has 24 years of progressive responsibility inclusive of sales, marketing, product management, business development, category management and vice president roles with Billy Goat, Ingersoll Rand and Mitsui Machinery. IR was a diversified Fortune 200 manufacturing company with $11B in revenue and MMD was a division of Mitsui, a $35B Japanese trading company. Pierre served on the Board of directors for the American Rental Association from 2011 to 2013. The association serves to promote the $40B equipment rental industry and the success of its members. He currently serves on the ARA foundation board – a 501c3 that promotes scholarships, mentoring and disaster relief in the industry. In addition he currently serves on the vendor advisory panel for True Value Rental as well as for the National Pavement Expo. Pierre has a B.A. from State University of NY, College at Cortland and an M.B.A from NYU’s Stern school of business. Pierre, his wife Shelly and three children reside in Kansas City.
Maureen Thompson - FMC
Maureen Thompson is the Commercial Director for FMC Professional Solutions, North America. She has been involved in the T&O industry for more than 2O years in sales, sales management and key account management. Thompson is a native of Kankakee, Illinois and holds an Agricultural degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign – Urbana. She currently resides with her husband, John, in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Murray Wingate - Lebanon
Murray Wingate is the Turf Grass Marketing and Sales Manager at Lebanon Turf products, the professional products division of Lebanon Seaboard Corp. He has been involved with Turfgrass sales, marketing, and production for over 20 years. Murray grew up on a dairy farm in the Finger Lakes region of New York and has worked in agriculture or horticulture his whole life. He holds a degree in Agronomy for SUNY Cobleskill and is a Certified Turfgrass Professional from the PLCAA/University of Georgia program.

Cindy Code - Executive Director
Cindy Code was named Executive Director in January 2011 after serving on the board of directors since 2003. For nearly 30 years, she has been a proactive communicator and journalist within the green industry community. Code’s reputation was established through her two-decade tenure at Lawn & Landscape magazine. In her roles as editor, account manager, publisher and Internet content manager, she was a respected communicator and active participant within the industry. She is an advocate of communicating the many benefits of yards, parks and green spaces, and has demonstrated this through community revitalization projects across the country. Code joined GIE Media after graduating from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. She is an award-winning journalist honored by the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association, the American Society of Business Press Editors and the Cleveland Press Club for her numerous contributions to the field.
Michael Joyce - National Projects Manager
Michael Joyce joins Project Evergreen with nearly 30 years of extensive private sector background in domestic and global marketing and communications management. His breadth of experience in successfully developing domestic and global marketing and media campaigns for green industry and other businesses in the US, EU and Asia, informs his commitment and passion to help demonstrate and fulfill Project EverGreen’s mission. As national projects manager, Joyce mobilizes industry partners to donate pro bono green space revitalization services to recipients. Over recent years, Joyce has coordinated the planning, development and execution of 25 landscaping revitalization donations in service to charitable agencies, schools, parks and youth athletic fields in communities across the country. He collaborates with urban mayoral and parks & recreation officials to identify neglected, under served, or under-budgeted parks and ball fields, and mobilizes professional landscape and nursery contractors and other volunteers, who all donate their services and materials to provide our pro bono landscape renovations and renewals to their local communities.
